Eastern Region Domestic Violence Network (ERDVN) Employment Directions Network East Metro
We are signatories to the memorandum of understanding with the CoS and others to increase Indigenous economic and employment development in the region. We have been proactive in establishing an Indigenous traineeship program within the CoS and continue to work with them to increase the number of Indigenous people employed by the CoS. We are partners with the CoS in the VV program which we administer. We are members of Swan Communities, a forum of key local not-for-profit agencies which works to develop the capacity of the community to respond to the needs of local people. We are members of the Swan Accommodation Providers Network, which is working to identify solutions to the homeless and affordable housing crisis in the region. Eastern Region Domestic Violence Network (ERDVN) Community Key is represented on the Board of Management of ERDVN and contributes considerable time and expertise to this valuable service. ERDVN consists of Koolkuna Women’s Refuge and provides short-term, safe accommodation and associated support to women and children escaping domestic and family violence. During the year, this totals around 90 families. Staff are available to provide both emotional and practical support to the women and children and assist them to make plans for their futures. ERDVN also provides a domestic violence advocacy service. COMMACT supports people-centred development organisations and projects in countries around the world. Their activities are diverse and provide, for example, education and skills, economic independence, housing, health, and family support. In common they share the aim to empower and enable poor and marginalised individuals, groups and communities to increase the control they have over their lives Community Key are members of COMMACT and we are currently establishing a partnership with Rural Workers Social Welfare Organization (PRWSWO) under COMMACTS International Solidarity Partnership Program Employment Directions Network East Metro |
